The Client
Presque Isle County Council on Aging is a community service agency located in Northern Michigan. They coordinate programs to assist older adults throughout Presque Isle County remain independent and living in their own homes.
The Challenge
The council did not previously have any presence on the web and was not sure where to begin setting up a new site. The council's site needed to be reasonably priced, easy to maintain and yet have all the features that make a site interesting and useful to its users.
The Solution
Huron Data Solutions provided Presque Isle County Council on Aging a complete web site, email hosting, and mailing list management solution built upon the Google Apps for Non-Profits suite. The site has blog-style elements for adding announcements and publishing the council's periodical documents. It is integrated with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The site is easy to manage for the average non-technical person, so the council can focus on providing services to their community instead of using their time and resources figuring out a complex web site management system.
